Uncontrollable Disobedience

This project focuses on public domains, such as shopping centers and office work places. Those who enter these particular domains abide by certain procedures. The more frequent the site is inhabited the more the procedures become routine. Eventually the routines become progressively repetitive and monotonous. The Impermanent Sculptures intend to disrupt these monotonous routines with a humorous, perhaps even a candid statement of the propensities of certain capitalistic desires and individual predilections.

To a certain extent, our propensity to engage in these subversive acts is for our own amusement and diversion. With the utmost irony, we understand and accept that we are apart of the demographic that the interventions are intended for. With great admiration and respect for the Situationists International, these spectacles are as much for us as they are for the side of society who just go through the motions.

Project: Impermanent Sculpture II

BE MISCHIEVOUS, MAKE ART, PARTICIPATE

Project: Impermanent Sculpture II is a participatory project the encourages people to produce an impermanent sculpture in any setting in need of a disturbance. In creating your impermanent sculpture remain anonymous, don't get caught, use what ever is in reach, be creative but fast. Make sure you have a camera to document your sculpture and the reactions of others upon finding your piece. If you would like to participate and have your sculpture included in our on-line gallery, please email a jpeg image of your sculpture to rejecteffect@gmail.com

Please include in the email your Name, Age, State/Country, the place in which the impermanent sculpture was created and any additional comments about your sculpture.
